As of July 23, 2026, the University has adopted a new Alcohol Policy that can be found here. We are currently in process to develop a workflow portal to register events with alcohol. In the interim, please ensure that you have (1) read the policy, (2) received Dean or VC approval for your policy-compliant event, and then please (3) send the following information to bachenhe@email.unc.edu to complete event registration:
- Name of Department
- Primary Contact
- Primary Contact Email and Phone
- Location of Event(s)
- Date of Event(s)
- Start and End Time of Event(s)
- Purpose of the Event
- Anticipated Attendees/Guests (alumni, parents, faculty, etc)
- Rationale for why alcohol is neccessary to advance the purpose of this event
- Name of Licensed Catered or Bartender (or Service) that will be serving alcohol (if applicable)
- Method of alcohol procurement/purchase
- Plan for storage/retaining unused alcohol (if applicable)
- Protocols in place that will ensure policy compliance
- Attestation that department/unit has received Dean or VC approval for the event
